FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.

So much to see and explore whether it's a great view from Fisherman's Bastion or a prosecco river cruise, the Opera House or the thermal baths you'll never be bored. Don't miss the poignant shoes by the Danube. Ruins bars are fun but keep your wits about you and watch your drinks. One big tip - never never use a freelance taxi even though they are regulated they did try to rip us off - make sure that unless it is a special event code 1 is in the meter. Uber and Bolt are really good value for money. Extra tip - use Forint!! Restaurant with a view - Leo on the Buda side of the Chain Bridge - perfect for a Sunday brunch.

Loved the buildings, the tours, the baths and all the history. I could go back in a heartbeat. We found it very expensive, more so that we were expecting. WE used the public transportation and found it very reasonable and easy to use. Much less crowded on the underground than in other cities. We did the highlights on our own, a river tour on a boat and a tour of the Castle and St Stephens Hall. There is a lot of "reconstruction" going on at the Castle and Palace area. I felt we didnt need to book a guide as we just walked around the buildings and the Palace part was a couple of rooms which was offered as a guided tour when you go inside for your tickets. We went to the thermal baths early in the day (before 9am) but it really wasnt as busy as we expected. It started filling up after 10am but wasnt crowded at all. The main pool was under renovation so was closed off but the rest was available. Budapest is lovely and we will be back there is so much more to see and do.

Great city, good vibes. Walkable. Loved the concept of ruin bars. Loved walking in the city center and dining at beautiful restaurants with international and local cuisine. The lights up for the Parliament building is a nice experience and so is the walk along the river. The Hungarian wines are good. All in all, definitely a place to visit once in your life.

Budapest is relatively inexpensive and there is a lot to do and see. Plan ahead for good restaurants. Mazel Tov and Retek Bistro were both very good choices that we made. Walking around is the way to go because distances are short. If you are into it, a ruin bar is an entertaining experience.

Went for 3 nights in January and it was absolutely great, it exceeded our expectations. As this was not our first trip to Budapest, we didn't want to stay in the city centre. I consider the hotel has a great location, as it is near the metro/bus/tram station. The cost for 3 night was incredible, the room was clean and had a minimalist design, the reception staff was super friendly and helpful - we asked for a room change due to the noise and in a few minutes it was done.

Parking in Budapest might be a bit tricky and expensive, and so I choose this hotel because I was looking for a place where I can safely leave my car over the night and still easily reach the city centre. The hotel has a surprisingly big parking lot behind the building, which was great. And the underground was in 5min walk, so the location was also perfect for us. The staff was really kind, and the room was very quiet and cozy, good value for money.

I am usually travelling by car and find it very difficult in Budapest to choose a place that would combine the on site parking with a vicinity to the city centre. This hotel is probably the best option for such a case. Moreover, the hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful, the beds are comfy and the breakfast is great.
